2010 RULES OF ENTRY

1. All film entries to the Blue Water Film Festival (BWFF) MUST be independent and additionally meet one of the two following criteria:
a.) The entry must have been filmed in the state of Michigan or Lambton County, Sarnia.
b.) The person submitting the film must have participated in the production
of the entry and have a permanent address in the state of Michigan or Lambton County , Sarnia.

2. All film submissions must be postmarked by Friday, July 16, 2010 and mailed in a padded envelope to avoid damage during processing or shipping & handling. The BWFF, its management or its juries does not assume any liability for damage to films or publicity materials.

3. Applicant must submit two (2) full quality/full frame uncompressed (720 x 480 pixel) DVD’s (NTSC) for each entry. No other formats will be accepted.

4. Entries submitted WILL NOT be returned. Please copyright all material.

5. All foreign language films must contain English subtitles.

6. Each film submission must have its own individual entry form and entry fee. Entry fees must be payable to the “Blue Water Film Festival” by check, money order or credit card. Films up to 40 minutes in length are $35.00 each for the entry fee. Films 41 minutes or more in length are $50.00 each for the entry fee.

7. All Lambton County, Sarnia, Ontario film submissions must be paid in U.S. currency.

8. The BWFF requests that a trailer is provided for all film submissions (including documentaries, shorts, animation, etc).

9. All DVD’s when submitted, become the property of the Blue Water Film Festival or its authorized agents a non-exclusive license to publicly display at any event with credits given appropriately to the film-maker.

10. The BWFF requests that all film submissions chosen as finalists send press kits (promotional material) by Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The press kits may include, but not limited to: posters, film stills or other materials to promote the film festival finalist. This material will not be returned and is property of the BWFF.

11. The BWFF is not responsible for infringement on the copyright, trademark or other rights of any individual, business or organization. Any copyrighted material or music cannot be used without permission by the artist and must be obtained by the filmmaker.

12. The BWFF requests that all film submissions chosen as finalists remove the selected film, if shown in it’s entirety, from the internet. Trailers are acceptable on the internet for promotional purposes.

Film Festival Finalists:
All entries to the 2010 Blue Water Film Festival will be notified by USPS and mailed a letter postmarked no later than Monday, August 30, 2010.

All completed entry forms should be mailed to: Blue Water Film Festival, Attn. Kelly Kennedy, PO Box 611109, Port Huron, MI 48061 and postmarked by Friday, July 16, 2010.

The BWFF reserves the right to amend the above rules at any time. Incomplete entries and those postmarked after the deadline will not be considered.
